Second ... but still good..

For those who did not go to the finals, we had a cracker of a time.... Though the action was pretty marred by some pre match drama once again...

What happened (and what I am very unhappy about) was that 3 of our guys couldn't play cos we did not have enough BLACK jerseys. Evidently, some of you brought home some jerseys and  didn't cosolidate them, thus resulting in a shortage of jerseys for our guys in the FINAL.

As we are planning to share jerseys again next year, I'd like to implore everyone to RETURN the jerseys!!!!

Anyhows... it was an exciting game with plenty to talk about... basically we played SRC and the game was high end stuff, with SRC dominating possession but our defence being greatly masterful. Unfortunately, Referees are blind and SRC got a short corner for no reason. A hit and a uncharacteristic miss by Chun Mun later, we were one nil down.

Down, but not out... we came back fighting and within a minute shahrom had a tame deflection on goal that the keeper managed to save.... another counter attack a minute later and we had a short corner... Up stepped Paul ... and guess what... goal!!

Basically the entire match went on like this... they controlled play, we got the ball in defence and tried to counter attack... failing that, we had to fall back and defend from their mazy runs ... (believe it or not ... SRC hired this malaysian guy for $100 per game to play for them).

At the end of the first half, we had a short corner, which we unfortunately could not convert, even with the whole team at the short corner.

The second half was some what more exciting, somehow they finally managed to score a goal and we were back to fighting from a goal down again....

And equalised we did, and what a wonderful team play it was... John (or someone ) got the ball in defence, passed to Boon Kwang, who took the ball dribble pass one guy only to spot Ah hood, who had just substituted in, making a penetrating run into the D, a through pass, and Ah Hood was through on goal... I must admit, I held my breath at that moment praying for Ah Hood to convert..... and amazingly, he converted in spectacular style, scoring an unstoppable shot....

The bench was ecstatic.. and so was the crowd .... We were all geared up and breathing in tons of PSI 100+ air with shouts of pure adrenaline...

Unfortunately , our joy was short lived, and a minute later, SRC got a short corner, which they converted with a spectacular diving deflection from Ali, our old RI coach.

It was not to be for us, for though we played our hearts out, we still lost 3-2 eventually...
