Another Win for us....
Hi guys,For those who don't yet know, we are on a roll and have won the last few games 3-1, 2-1 3-2 and now 3-1 vs D'Masters ...
The good news at the start of the game was that we had 20 players for the game vs their 13-14 guys.
We had 9 subs, out of which 5 were forwards (John even had to double as left back)
We opened scoring with Winston (who had just taken out his wisdom tooth) with a sweet shot from the right, the keeper just missing the clearance with his left foot.
Our opponents were clearly shocked, and we kept up the pressure with countless attacks, we got a foul in midfield, Kwang made a quick hit to me and with a touch of inspiration that caused the ball to elude 3 defenders, Pavi was through on goal with a simple hit past the keeper.
We had a few scares in the first half, with Nicholas making a couple of superb saves from Ghanesh( sorry dunno how to write his name) and Vijayan. We also somehow managed to save from a great shortcorner shot from Kiran/Vijayan?! and somehow we managed to get a clearance in before it trickled in...
Unfortunately, the Refs sucked (as usual) and DMasters kept getting short corner after short corner for no reason and with the pressure on, somehow Vijayan managed a wonderful volley that flew to the top corner.
Halftime came with ORA Vets leading 2-1 and our team talk consisted of how to shut out the 2 playmakers in the opponent Team : Ghanesh and Vijayan.
Da plan worked somewhat and we managed to contain Ghanesh in the midfield. But Wiley Vijayan somehow managed to work his magic and it was through some superb defending from both Aaron and Chen Mun, our young proteges. that we managed to hold on to the lead.
Pavi sealed the game halfway through the second half with a superb solo effort down the left flank: He got the ball on the 25, dribbled into the D from the left... somehow, the defender infront of him didn't want to take him on and from an Acute angle he took a crack and what a cracker it was.... it flew straight into the top of the net and it was 3-1 ORA!!!
Let's work on keeping our streak going and we could possibly end up in the playoffs!!
